Comtech at the 70th Traveling Assembly Conference and Exhibition – Focus on the Future of Network Monitoring

Comtech Ltd. also participated in the 70th Traveling Assembly Conference and Exhibition  of the Hungarian Electrical Engineering Association, held in Siófok between 26–28 September 2024. The event is one of the most significant professional forums of the industry, with more than 1,250 experts attending this year and over 130 presentations addressing the challenges, digitalisation, and future development directions of the Hungarian electrical power system.

We are especially proud that one of our company’s owners, Lajos Varga, Comtech’s Director of Sales and Marketing, was among the speakers and also took part in a roundtable discussion.

His presentation, titled “LV Network Monitoring and Data Transmission”, generated great interest among the professional audience, as it focused on new approaches to network supervision and data communication — with particular emphasis on the importance of smart metering systems.

During his presentation, Lajos Varga highlighted:

“What you believe is more than enough today will certainly not meet your expectations in the future. Identify the capacity limitation, analyse how they can be resolved, and determine what the cost will be.”

This message perfectly reflects Comtech Ltd.’s professional mindset: continuous development, systems-level thinking, and the pursuit of innovative solutions to enhance network reliability.

The motto of this year’s conference — “More is needed than simple network development” — aligns with the direction we also follow: recognising that new consumer needs and the expansion of electrification require complex, data-driven solutions to ensure long-term supply security.

A total of more than 1,250 experts attended the 70th Hungarian Electrical Engineering Association Traveling Assembly Conference, where more than 130 presentations over the three days explored the current challenges and future opportunities of the Hungarian electric power industry. In addition to energy policy, topics included the digitalisation of electricity systems, the latest trends in energy storage, and innovative management of physical network components to expand the capacity of existing systems.
